    What sould i tighten the head bolts on a 89 festiva to?

    according to Haynes, 35 to 40, then 56 to 60

      sounds about right. remember to do the criss-cross tightening sequence.

        that would be ft-lbs, not N-M.

        I suspect he may not be in the US, and is using the metric system for torque values.

          Per the factory shop manual:

          Step 1 - 50 to 60 N-M (35-40 lb-ft)
          Step 2 - 75 to 81 N-M (56-60 lb-ft)

          Torque sequence:

          10 6 2 3 7
          O O O O O

          O O O O O
          9 5 1 4 8
          1988 L - aka: Underdog
          1990 L - soon to be trailer
          1994 Aspire (Looks like an egg)
