Inside rear view mirror

The inside rear view mirror leg seems to somehow attach to a baseplate mounted to the inner roof. How does it come down? I don't see any access.

I'm pretty sure it just clips up there. It's a very sturdy clip so it will take a good pull to get it off. Maybe wait to see what others say before trying though... I have been known to make a mistake or two once in a while

Your saying you want to remove the cover on the interior rearview mirror to access the moutning screws? A hook tool will do the job or a small flat screwdriver. It's just clipped on.

Pull the cover away from the base plate starting on the end closest the mirror

I have here a '89, '90, '91 with a plastic cap covering the base. I believe it'd just snap off and expose the base screws. I the one I'm working on is an '88 model, I think. The mirror base and cover are all metal. There may be a set screw holding the two together. I can't see too well where the car is.

iside rearview mirror take out

there is a seam at the base of the mirror, take a slotted screwdriver hit it between seam. it will fall off there are two screws thats the whole deal.
