gauge cluster removal

Is there a reason I can't get the gauge cluster out of my 89 L. I took the four screws out, but i can't get it to come out it acts like there is something behind there holding it. Is there something holding it or should it just come out.

its the speedo cable... loosen it up from the firewall and it should give you enough room to unhook everything to get the cluster out

i just go down on the tranny and unbolt it from the tranny and pull it out then the it lets it come out so you can unhook it
