98-01 Festiva Diagnostics / Ignition Timing

hey guys,
does any one know how to do a "ecu diagnostics / error code check" and also the pins to bridge when adjusting the ignition timing.
I have a 2000 Ford Festiva. The plug on this one is different to the previous years ie 1994.
So far from what i understands its a kia built/ecu diagnostics, but i cant find any info on how to perform the diagnostics. (the instrument cluster doesnt even have a "check engine" light either"
