how long have you been working on these cars???
should be around 1500-2000 rpm then drops to about 800 rpm
this is normal warm up procedure on cold days for an fuel injection car
the Idle Air Control motor is responsible for this and is located on the intake manifold behind the distributorLast edited by mechanicaldj; 08-05-2009, 09:02 AM.

if this is your first Festy, it sounds like it's screaming, but trust me, it's not. i started with an 88L (no tach) and thought i was beating the crap out of it, then i put a tach cluster in and it turns out that i was shifting at 3000 rpm (sounded like it was going to die). i'm with DJ on this one, it's an audible illusion.Trees aren't kind to me...
currently: 2 88Ls (Scrappy and Jersey), 88LX, 90L(Pepe), 91L, 91GL (Skippy) 93 GL Sport (the Mighty Favakk), 94 (Bruce) & 95 Aspire SEs, 97 Aspire (The Joker),
94 Justy 4WD, 87 Fiero GT, plus 2 parts cars. That's my fleet.
