Ahh. So it probably was just rings or valve seals. Now you've likely got a misaligned cylinder pumping oil into the combustion chamber. For what you would pay for a rebuild, or even a rebuild kit and do it yourself, I think I'd hunt for either another B3, or figure out another swap, and get on it.

And keep it between the curbs when you're done.

hold it hold it!!! what did you just say? you waited for the oil light to come on?!?

um, you see that light and it's game over! air in the system, you're DRY. i hate to say it, but you tanked your engine, it didn't do it by itself.

that's the misconception about idiot lights: if you see them, it's too late, especially with the oil light.

Well the thing is it's never done it steady, only at low rpm, then it seems like the worse it gets, the more rpms needed to make it go away. But really, I think I'm gonna b swap, it's sooo easy. I know with a b8 it's all just drop in and go right? Except of course ecu, fuel pump, intake all of which i need from the donor and the one motor mount right?

            just about, yeah.

but about that light, it doesn't matter how infrequent it is, when you see it, that oil pump is sucking air and there's no oil to support the bearings (bearings ride on oil, not the metal surface of the journals).

If you are asking me, I wouldnt disagree with festYboy.

                          EGR

Exhaust Gas Recirulation .. or something like that.

My gf wants to get rid of her 92 escort, I wonder how a 1.9 ford cvh would do in a festiva? But it's only 88hp, no thanks, lol. At 1.9 I expect more!

Not necessarilly impossible, but if youre asking all these questions then its definately above your skill level. Stick with the B8 if youre going to do a swap. It isnt quite plug and play, but then no swap really is. Unless youre doing B3 for B3.
