Too many times a lot of effort is put in to help someone and the problem is resolved and they never tell us.
When I see those people back on, looking for answers/parts what do you think I'm likely to do?

If it doesn't work we continue to try to get it fixed, no problem!

missing flange is the reason im replacing in first place cause i wanted to replace to the speedo as well so i know how to do it.

Keep that tranny/speedo gear.
People have run them for years without the flange and lock down bolt.
Much better than nothing if the otherone fails.

you dont have to loosen the screws but I have big hands so its hard to move them if I dont have a little wiggle room - if you have it pulled then you can fish your arm up through there and push the cluster onto the cable just be sure to hook up both of your electrical plugs - its easy if you plug the left one (black) in first and then plugh the white (right) one in after your spedo plug is mounted

does the speedo move at all? it can be a pain to get that little clip into the notch are you sure it clicked in? if you have a spare cluster you could swap that in to rule out the speedo itself - Like it was said its hard to tell with out being there
