    1. got it connected to cluster started clicking with more speed.

    2. connectd but no clicking and i see it jump up 5mph or so when i hit the cluster(could just b the hittin)

    3. don not know if i need more grease for connection to cluster.but speedo cable spins properly.

conclusion.... new cluster. i have no idea y it wont engage but my turn signals went out so i had to put my emergency fuse back in(the ding sound for doors one)

wats the verdict guys any ideas?????

what i had to do with my cluster was "shorten" the sleeve which houses the cable (ie tightly wound spring) right near the cluster, in order for the square male connection to go into the female side of the instument cluster and grip it better and go deeper...
this may or may not make sense... but it worked for me... don't know if its your problem or not, but you may also try greasing the actual instrument cluster internals..

no... take the speedo cable all the way out..
then, use a razor and cut a little bit of the sleeve on the cluster side of the cable, exposing a little more of the cable... then it'll go into the cluster farther, ensuring a good grip....
check the cluster side female end to make sure its not stripped out.

looks like you need a new cable.

so you cut the sleeve even though the cable was broke?
i am surprised your speedo even worked at all with it broke.....

no i mislead you. the entire cable and tranny connections 1-2 inches shorter(the one from the yard) than the original one in the festy. This is my original. it didn't engage and just twisted and snapped. The new ones already in and working fine. Thx for the help guys!!!!!
