I recently changed my fuel filter and I couldn't remove the bracket because it was so rusty and when I loosened the tension bolt it snapped off so I had to pull the filter through the bracket. Once the filter was out I tried to remove and then tried to break it to get it out. It didn't work, it only bent it up real bad, so now I have a fuel filter that has been zip tied to brake lines. I don't think that is so good. I was wondering how I could solve the problem without sending it to the shop.
