  • Camshaft timing gear

    Is the attachment bolt to the cam right or left hand threads? The sucker is tight and I don't want to twist it off.

    right hand thread (like normal). you can use the hex casting on the cam for counter leverage.
    Trees aren't kind to me...

    currently: 2 88Ls (Scrappy and Jersey), 88LX, 90L(Pepe), 91L, 91GL (Skippy) 93 GL Sport (the Mighty Favakk), 94 (Bruce) & 95 Aspire SEs, 97 Aspire (The Joker),

      Thanks. I have another engine here with the bolt twisted off. I thought maybe the threads were left handed on the one I'm working on and I didn't want to twist it off.

        if its stubborn i put a screw driver sideways through the camshaft to help get the bolt off....
        and yep, its a regular thread
