  • Now that's an ENGINE

I have been tinkering around with this for a long time and I am finally ready to drop it in my Festiva.

I completely rebuilt it, bored the cylinders over, had the crank ground, 3 angle valve job on the head and had it trued and put it all together with a full gasket set.

I also replaced the timing belt, water pump and clutch.

When it's done I will have about $800 invested.

Now, many of you probably think I am crazy to spend $800 on a 1.3L engine for a Festiva but I disagree.

In my area, eastern NC, cars like this with 100k+ miles easily sell for up $1500.

I originally paid $900 for the car and if I can drive it to work for the next 4 years I will more then make my money back.

            It's bored .020" over.

The head is how it came from the shop once they cleaned it, milled the bottom flat and did the 3 angle valve job, which cost me $105

I have a glass bead cabinet and I used it to clean up the heat shield and the valve cover.
