  • my 93 festiva is lurching

I am new to festivas, I have had mine a week now and love it.
But I now have a problem. yesterday I drove my car on a 200 mile trip, I was a few miles from home, and I stopped at a gas station for a pit stop. I left my wife in the car, so I left it idling, when I left and took off the car started lurching as if I were pushing the clutch in and it did it through all gears and would hardly pull itself. I had some mods done to the stock b3 such as: cold air intake and unrestricted exhaust, but the car has ran fine with the mods.
I am puzzled any help would be great.

only when in gear? was the engine stumbling on itself when you had the trans in neutral and maybe when you revved it?

bad gas could be the culprit.... is it only at a certain rpm?

add your location too please, that may help in diagnosis.

I apologize for my lack of punctuation. I didn't realize that it inhibited the post to be read. I found out that there is rust in the tank and it was plugging the filter. Is there any way to fix the rust problem? Or is another tank the best option? I hope that all periods and question marks are all in proper location. If not I apologize in advance. I'm in Kansas, but am unsure how to make it show on my profile

rust can be solved by draining the tank (through the drain plug), allowing it to dry out and then fill it with a rust desolver, and then sealent (there are kits available for this). As far as your lacation, that can be added via the "User CP" tag at the top left of the page. There you can edit/add any personal information you desire.
