New rebuilt engine stalling question

So, sounds like he kind of blew you off about the computer adjusting everything (4000 miles just sounds like a number he pulled out of his rear end) and ultimately, the car did just what it was supposed to do, yes?

Glad it's back to running like a Stiva should.

I don't think the guy blew me off, I stop by and he's more than happy to talk my ear off.
Seems like every mechanic has a different theory.

My regular mechanic who fixes whats broke and inspects my stuff is (was) a master mechanic in a ford garage, he always knows how to fix whats broke on my festEvils when I'm stumped.

His opinon of the 4k wait and see.... "I dunno about 4k, but for 500-1000, I wouldnt worry about it stalling now and then, that usually stops as the engine settles in".

Apparently, hes right.

I watched the machine shop take it apart and rebuild it, I popped in now and then to see what they were doing. I was pretty impressed with the shop and the work. I gave them a grease caked oil hemorrhaging engine, I got back an engine that looks like its brand new.
I saw the insides when they were cleaning it & putting in the new stuff and had it in 1000 pieces. they did a good job. The engine for having 180k+ on it was not in bad shape (for 180k).

Its all new now, with some TLC itll go 500K this time. (knock wood)

Not sure where the 4k came from..... like doctors, mechanics all have their theories.

but yup, it's leak free and has more get up and go than any festEvil I ever had before.
