        Not the problem I'm sure, but while you're in there, I hear the water pump is exposed.

          3 fusible links are on the driver's side shock tower, in a little black box a few inches below the top of the tower, as you're standing at the right front of the car. They look like 3 little red loops of wire. If you pull them out to check them with an ohmmeter, pull very carefully as not to break them. 20 year old wire tends to get brittle.

          Focustiva: Because I was told it was was impossible to fit a Focus bumper on a Festiva.

            Correct!! And as we learned in Shane's parking lot, they can be a little iffy at times. Already exchanged mine for the three that Festyboy gave me. Thanks again.

            To the OP, your first post said that you jumped it to take it to the store. Has it been sitting a while? I'm kind of seconding the notion of making sure there's not too much tension on the belt, and definitely don't go in and grab the cheapest one they have. It's cheap for a reason.
