  • more info on my aspire misfiring

my car misfired twice between 70 and 75mph tonight. it's always cyl four.

it's a 96 ford aspire, base, etc. nothing fancy about it.

i have not yet replaced the fuel filter but it has pretty new distro cap and rotor and spark plugs and wires

it does idle rough still i'm not sure if it's the coil being screwy or the fuel filter maybe, both are original.

but anyhoo, any ideas, as this is only on #4? compression or fuel pressure or something? boo

Look at the plug it might tell you what's going on. Even though the plugs are new still could be the plug. Make sure the spark plug wires are well seated. Could also be a bad or stuck fuel injector. And how do you know it's on 4??

I'll pull the plug in a minute

i know it's cyl four because the code I'm getting is P0304, which is misfire in cyl four

okay, i'll still do that later but i did just get done replacing the fuel filter, and it cut down on the rough idle significantly. I'll see if I can get it to misfire again later with its new filter.
