      my festy's running again

Well I got out today and started looking into why the darn thing wouldnt run and the gear was slipping. Come to find out the bolt that holds the cramkshaft pully's and gear had backed out and let the woodruff key slip. So I am back road ready :p:p.

Again I would like to thanks Mike for coming out and helping me figure it out.

              Glad that it worked out!
Sanjeet, you don't need to pull anything out to change a module out. If you remove the two screws holding the pickup assembly, and pivot the unit slightly it slides out without removing the shaft assy.
That said, due to cost involved, unless you have an ATX, you can buy a reman unit for the MTX, get a warranty, and have about the same money in it as you have for just a module.

Hey guys - saw the post for cranks and wont start and on my 1990 Festy i wasnt getting fuel (pulled fuel line, cranked ending, nothing spraying out. . I drained the old gas out of the tanks, pulled out the fuel pump and noticed the in tank fuel pump has a rubber bushing that turned to mushy black liquid plastic. Almost like tar. The finish off the fuel pump was eaten down to the bare aluminum. . . I cleaned out the tank, and amy reassembling all tomorrow but wanted to see if there is some thing with ethanol gas that is eating my fuel pump rubber pieces? Can that impact inside the pump? Is there are rubber bushing made of etahanol resistant rubber? Last question, under the hood I installed a new fuel pressure regulator. . . Is the fuel line that goes into it the return to the fuel tank or the output from the fuel pump that has the filter inline? Thanks! Chris in Elgin, Illinois.
