I couldn't find anything via search on this so here goes. My CL does not work. I checked the fuse and the wires are connected. Any ideas?

Are you talking about the socket or the lighter itself? Can you plug a phone charger and charge a phone with it?

Sometimes I've found that someone robbed the lighter circuit for the radio or something...

Probably just the element is burned out (they don't last forever). They are a few bucks at any parts store.

Mine didn't work when I first got it. I took it apart and cleaned it up a bit. It has worked fine ever since. Also, to check your wiring, use a test light on it(the wire harness behind it, not the socket itself). I believe the key has to be on for it work, but it should light up if you are getting power.

I want to see you remove it with out breaking it.
The acrylic or styrenic resin used to hold it in the sub assembly has at this time become so brittle it will be very difficult removing it without breaking it.
i broke 3 of them in the JY before I just used a hack saw and cut out the cig lighter socket so I could more easily disassemble it.
Even then, I didn't get it out without some damage.

Bigwheel, you might want to see what aftermarket has in the way of socket.
Would be less painful and a hell of a lot easier.

Sounds like a plan. I need it for my phone and for a small light I want to use to see my AC & heater controls.
