Depending on how well the engine runs (200K+ miles) I would try wrapping one plug with Stainless Steel duct tape first and see what happens. I would stay away from the end of the plug and just wrap it around the center of the threads. I can't see where it would hurt anything, as long as you keep it out of the cylinders.
Option #2 is to have thread inserts in all 3 offending holes. That will cost a little bit, but may be worth it. Should be able to do it in the car.
Option #3 is to install new plugs with a metallic thread repair like Loctite QuickMetal. They will not come out again, even if you want them to. If it doesn't foul plugs, you may get another 100K out of the motor. The metallic stuff should still offer a ground to the plug body. I would try one plug first! This would be my last resort - if it doesn't work, it will probably ruin the head, which leads to option #4:
Pull the head and install another used head or have the threads fixed. If the head has 200K on it then it probably needs valve seals, a valve job, timing belt, etc. anyway. Do it yourself and your looking at about $200 (estimated). You could probably find a good used complete B3, B6, B8 or BP for not much more. Someone here probably has a good used head for a B3 as well, which may be the best over-all solution.
Someone may have a better idea.....also, you may talk with a reputable machine shop first to see what they recommend.Brian
