  • What brand to get on replacing front end(ball joint, tie rod, bushing, etc)

Im doing aspire swap this weekend, I want to just put all new parts in now while i swap, need to make sure i have everything down so i can order it all tomorrow.

    Front
    -Pads (aspire)
    -Bearings (aspire)
-Sway bar bushing at Control arm (festiva)
    -Sway bar mount bushing (festiva)
-Tie rod inner and outer (aspire) Do i use the festiva inner and aspire outer???
    -Balljoints (festiva)
    -Control arm bushing (festiva)
*** I think buying the whole control arm with balljoints and bushings would be cheaper****

    Rear
    -Pads (aspire)
    -Bearings (aspire)

I plan on turning the rotors and drums, unless they are really cheap. And i dont know what brand name to go with on this stuff. There are some big price jumps between brands. Im looking on rockauto right now just cause they carry alot of brands.

Anyone have brand recommendation DO NOT WANT TO SPEND A FORTUNE as its not a racecar, but definately want something reliable. And if something needs to be added post it up. Thanks.

*EDIT* forgot to ask, how hard are bearings to replace? Do i need a press or anything special to do it?

As far as I know, the control arm assembly is only part available. I've ever seen just the ball joint available separately. Look for lower control arm , (LCA). Also a Haynes manual is quite useful. From what I've seen on here, use the Festy Arms, tie rod ends, etc. The Aspire front ends parts are longer in length. There is a thread on the Aspire swap. Look in the repair section I think is the location. Having keyboard issues on I would post the link.

I am going with the cheapest.

1993 Festiva L, aspire swapped, selling parts for a BP+T build.
