  • Question regarding spark plugs and distributor damage

I have a question regarding spark plugs and distributor damage. Can somehow, very cold plugs installed to a stock or racing Distributor-less Ignition System makes any damage to the coil or ignition module?

the only reson you'd want to run a colder plug is if you're boosting (turbo/supercharger).

Yes I know about spark plugs. The first question must be. Will it do damage if I install a hotter plug gust to see that if it's from the plugs. I asked because my friend has a Civic Turbo 245 whp with a Kms standalone ecu and a KMS Distributor-less Ignition System. But it was not working right on cold startup, needs more tuning and it was fouling the spark plugs. It have Denso ik27 spark plugs. And When we tried the stock spark plugs wich was some ngk heat range no 6 it won't start again. I checked for spark and there was no spark. I also checked the signal from the ecu and it was fine. What could caused the ignition system to fail? Or was it likely to fail and that's it?

        Thanks

well there's you problem, it's a HONDA. seriously, that's actually the problem... the factory distributor has failed and it's a common problem. replace the distro and you'll be good to go.
