    THAT ON FESTIVAS:

1)You loosen the oil cap on festivas ...they start running erratic???
(file under vacuum leak,,, I think?)

    2) if the hoses to the air box aren't tight....the car runs erattic????
    (same as #1)

    3) if you run the car to near empty....theres a vacuum build up in the gas tank and you'll here a "whoosh" when you go to take the gas cap off???
(gotta find a file to put this under)

Any one else got some oddities about the festiva I should know about???????

    1) Mine runs the same with the cap on or off

    2) Don't have that problem as mine doesn't have all the vac crap on it anymore

    3) My new one doesn't do that either, but Batstiva did.

Assuming all the differences between what you see and what I see have to do with the differences in our carb/vac/emissions set ups.

Does being mocked by some jack hole who spent 20K on his Prius to get worse mileage than I get in my 350.00 festiva count as an 'oddity'?

    1988 L - 232K miles Batstiva
    1989 L - 247K miles Slick

That would be the tree-hugging, Birkenstock-wearing, latte-sipping, whale-saving jackhole. With a little ponytail.

I think the "running erratic" would be only on EFI festivas, but i'm not sure

              1988 323 GT - B6T Powered

There are alot of cars that go "whoosh" when you take the gas cap off if it is low on gas, if you have a vented cap it would stop that.

Mine idles better with the cap off, found that out last night when I wass adding a quart in the Meijer parking lot... Found out at the same time that I can take my key out of the ignition at any time, even when the car is running... File that under really worn lock cylinder, I guess...
