92 Festiva Help
I just bought a 92 Festiva and its only running on 3 of the 4, I think I have a bad valve in the head. How do I tell what motor I have and what head will fit on this motor? It smokes badly when started and has no power when it’s running killing the plug in 2 or 3 days.

If the engine is OEM then you have the only engine which was available to U.S. buyers; the 1.3 L.

It is a auto with 170000 on it, had a oil burner on the sparkplug in the last hole ( driver side) and it was not firing, I took the burner off and the plug started to fire some until it fouled out. Now it will not fire at all. It idles badly and when I put it in gear it will cut off if I don’t keep my foot on the gas. It is also getting poor gas mileage. Going thou 1 or 2 quarts of oil a week, and smokes when I start it up.Comment

If the exhaust valve is leaking you should see an accumulation of soot on the underside of the valve cover above the valve. An inexpensvie vaccum guage and a compression guage would help isloate the problem.Original owner of silver grey carburetted 1989 Festiva. 105k km as of June 2006. 140k km as of June 2021.Comment

Help with my head
I got a 92 auto festiva and I think it has a bad valve, and burning oil allmost as fast as gas! What heads will fit on this motor, I have a friend with 2 older cars but dont know if the heads will work or not.Comment

I would swap the whole engine. Sounds like you have more problems than just a leaking valve and don't think that just swapping the head will fix it.OscarComment
