hey, just my two bits... my car would not be running right now period, if not for this forum. the advice is legit, and they seem willing to stick with ya till you're through for some crazy reason. the penetrating oil stuff actually does work! i had a thoroughly rusted bolt and after 9 days of spraying it came out no sweat. this sounds like a under $50 job. and i bet for every question you ask, you'll get 2 answers. hate ta see you put so much work into this and then just throw it away. i'd regret that myself. lots of those spray recommend tapping with blunt object to free stuck part. but like they already said you dont want to hit it hard. not sure but i'd say spray for a full week. then try the ideas. bet with under an hour work you could do this. even if youd bet you couldnt. cheers

I just remembered that I have a B3 head too that you could have and it's already packaged up ready to ship. Someone else was interested quite a while ago and never took it so if you want it, it's yours. It might be more economical to ship within Canada too.

            Reverse twist socket

The reverse twist socket mentioned from snapon is usually called a turbo socket due to its shape- work great, saved me many times on rusted nuts and bolts. PB blaster is supposed to be great stuff, the other one to look for is called aerokroil but I have only found online. Anyways soak and heat& repeat as mentioned, and dont forget a little anti seize on the threads of the new plugs. good luck

If nothing else this will allow you to look at other things (water pump, etc.) and maybe replace them at the same time to save potential grief up the road.

I am still wondering why $2000.00 was spent on the car and he doesn't have a BP in it running 13's. That's where my money (if I had it) would go. HAHA

sigh........stock is fine. However, 2 g's is alot of money for a stock Festiva. Just my opinion of course. If i had the means to spend 2 g's on my festy it sure as heck wouldnt be stock!!!

If you pull the head, a good machine shop will extract the plug no problem. You may want to take someone up on one of the offers for a free head. I know this is a real PITA for you right now, but several of us have been there before. Remember that there is nothing that can't be fixed and it's not like parts for a Festiva are rare or expensive (it could be a lot worse). Don't let it get to you! Do what you must to fix it and it will be well worth the effort when you can fire it up and drive it off!

Its just easier to replace it. Then you know you wont have any issues later. Or hopefully you wont.
Youre probably looking at 50 - 60 max for timing belt and pump if that.
Personally I dont see a problem with keeping it stock and putting 2g into it. You know youll get that back in gas savings.
Bellativas going to remain basically stock with the exception of a couple minor items. Ive got about 1300 into her and still need to get her repainted.
Too many of you get these cars and instantly wanna put a bigger motor into em. Which is cool. But dont rag on a guy whos going for looks over going faster.
