    DO NOT RUN THIS WITH OUT THE SPRING!!!!

    your brakes will not self adjust and will remain sucked back - meaning as your pads wear your brakes will not stay adjusted and your pedal travel will be excessive - making your stopping distance greater

    there is a pin on one side that the spring hooks onto and on the other side there is a notch that the spring hooks into - I cant remember which side has the pin - but ist just a small pin - If I remember right the pin is on the ratcheting part and the spring hooks into the arm going between the shoes - this spring should be put on first as it is virtually impossible to put on once everything is in place
