50 HP from just a chip... in a car that only has 75 HP?

I've got a bottle of snake oil I'll sell you for 59.99, rub it on your engine and It'll let you achieve light speed!

        NO

        You'll be $40.00 poorer though.

Correction, Festiva EFIs have a mighty 63 HP. We WISH we had 75 HP! :-)
Those chips are total BS. Think about it:
            1. if it sounds too good to be true, it is.
            2. if it was this easy, the manufacturers would have already done it.

            Free mods you can do:
            1. drill holes in the bottom airbox piece for more higher-RPM airflow.
            2. advance the timing 5-8 degrees (will require higher-octane gas, 89 or better, to prevent detonation).
Believe me, you will notice the difference with these simple mods.

Edit: also do a basic tuneup--plugs, wires, cap and rotor--and make sure your cat isn't plugged up. Index the plugs. I recommend the NGK BPR6EY11. Get a Haynes manual if you don't have one.

Do the chimps drive the civics?
Do not buy chimps nor any chips for your festiva....waste of money. period.

There is no real point in revving past redline; HP will fall off from its peak before you get there. Plus the motor wasn't designed to spin that fast; it's not a racing motor. Read my post above and try that first.

"When used in conjuction with other high performance parts, certain setups have produced up to a 50 horsepower gain!"

A quote from the performance chip website. Any HP gain will have been due to the "other high performance parts". And the 50 HP gain will be on a big motor which already produces several hundred HP, not a small fuel-efficient motor like ours.

                          I can tell you this.

After reading the installation instructions, you can't even install that on a Festiva.

                          It hooks to the "IAT".

                          From the installation instructions:

"Locate the vehicle’s Intake Temperature Sensor (IAT) located
or near the intake tube, in the air box or near the throttle bod
Figure 1 shows the typical location for the 2 wire IAT sensor."

                          Festivas don't have an IAT.

That thing is the same as an eBay ripoff chip. The website is lying to you.

Save your money. There are no magic chips that will turn your Festy engine into a 100 HP 8,000 RPM screamer.

If you want a noticeable improvement, take TominMo's advice.

Just let him buy one, some people just have to learn the hard way, I mean come on 10 people told him they were b.s. and he still was arguing about it.

You know what else you can do to raise your horsepower? Add window decals, and a giant wing on the back! Then you go on Ebay and buy one of them glue on hood scoops and out that on, it'll give you an extra 30 hp. Oh, and add some neons, that'll make your car reach higher RPM's!
