help with trans

I pulled out engine and trans. Power washed trans out in the driveway. Now looking in the trans where the cv's goes there is no splines? I futzed with the spare one in the garage and was able to turn the splined dealio out of the way, now I cant get it to line up with the hole in the trans again. anyone out there understand my gibberish?

yes....the insides have shifted....like people have talked about that they always say never happens. If you do not put a broom stick through the tranny or something along those lines you risk everything inside shifting.....and that is what it sounds like happened to me.

well I pulled out the trans. opened it up and fixed the spider gears. put it back in. every thing works great! Oh well. I learned the hard way. Hey, at least I know that all my gears look great!

about half hour to get it out the bottom. maybe an hour on the bench. just a pain trying how to take it apart. had all gears back in and found a pin on the bench. It was so you cant grab two gears at once I think. that was the only problem.

just went for a spin, this is only the second time I ever drove one of these cars. It just winds out. I dont have a tach. how long can I hold a gear? It was very loud! I need to weld my exhaust. Also have to search on how to weld my shifter too. It wants to fall thru the floor onto the exhaust. Fun little thing!
