  • Need Help Quick! Rear Hatch won't close!

I opened the hatch to put groceries in and went to close it and it won't latch shut. I tried messing with the latch, but can't seem to get anything to move. I'm not completely sure how it all works. I need to get it to stay shut ASAP b/c its pouring rain! Please help!

Mine does that very occasionally. Usually if I flip the lock lever on the hatch, then flip it back the other way, and close it, it latches. Never had to do anything more to it than that.

use a screw driver and use it like it is the post the latch connects to. I hope you understand what I mean. push it into the latch like if it were closing the hatch and watch what goes on. You can work the handle and pull outward with the screwdriver and make sure everything is moving. Keep it in the open position and try shutting the hatch.

Well, I got it to close. I worked the handle for a few minutes and saw the latch slowly start to go back in place. I was going to clean it all off and lube it up, but I don't have any lithium grease and I pressed the button on my can of WD40 just to put something on it and nothing came out, ha. I'm just going to leave it closed until I can get all the proper materials to clean and lube it. Thanks for the quick replies!
