  • sharp rpm drop

Ok guys, when I put in my ME motor in September we had a hard time getting it tuned right and idling smoothly so my mechanic raised the idle on my car. It currently sits between 1200 and 1500 rpms. I have been meaning to lower it since I finally got it tuned pretty much right but have just been lazy. The last couple of days when I exit off the freeway and come to the traffic light my idle is high at first then drops sharply to about 4 or 5 hundred rpms. It seemed to respond well to throttle input and revved smoothly and willingly until last night when it started missing some. If I hold it at a steady 2000 it misses and pops out the exaust. It is drivable but I fear it dying at lights and not restarting even though so far this hasn't been the case. It starts easily but just runs rough and barely idles at all. Does this sound like a disty problem? I think it is electrical for sure but could be wrong. Any input or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. It doesn't rev as freely after the idle drops likes that as of yesterday. it revs but misses. Thanks in advance.

The timing is off, if its popping out the exhaust and missing.

Found my problem! My intake tube was seperating on the bottom where I couldn't see it. I have a pvc intake tube that normally works great but the pipe and fittings are just pushed on. I guess I need to quit being lazy and glue them and I wouldn't have any more problem. My cone air filter along with the vaf is heavy and keeps pulling it apart. I would eventually like to move my battery to the passenger side and shorten my intake so the filter would be on the driver side snd only have one 45 bend instead of two 90 degree bends. Should also help my airflow dont you think?
