If the powers that be on here decide it is a problem, it will take me all of 30 seconds to delete the pics from my photobucket account, and they'll be gone from here.

Okay, below is an email I sent to Hayne's a couple of days ago, along with their response. I will leave the ultimate decision to the powers that be, but thought I'd pass this along.

        My Email to Hayne's

Hello, I am a frequent visitor on a few automotive websites, and I have
noticed a few people scanning pages from their Hayne's to help fellow
board members. These postings always end with " You really should go
get your own Hayne's manual, for future projects. My question is this:
Are these sites violating Hayne's copyrights by scanning and posting
these pages? These are not commercial websites, but are websites owned
and frequented by owners of specific makes and models. It was brought
up that posting those scans on these websites, which are private and
member only boards, could be problematic due to the risk of copyright
infringement issues. Wondering if you could give me some guidance as
far as posting future scans, and whether existing scanned pages already
on the forum should be deleted or edited. Thanks in advance for you
        help in this matter.

No specific Manual or Page number to reference.
        General question only.

The response I received from Hayne's today.

        Dear Sir:
        Thank you for your inquiry.
Scans of any part of our manual's contents that are posted or given to someone else without our permission is copyright infringement. Any and all scans should be removed immediately and no scans should be posted anytime in the future without our consent.
We encourage the sharing of information between people through the use of online forums and we appreciate those users who recommend the purchase of our manuals to others.
Thank you for your interest in Haynes automotive/motorcycle manuals!
        Best regards,

^^ Agreed. Just putting it out there because I know the subject is being looked in to.
