As long as the original poster understands, then I dont think it makes any difference which word is used.

Valve to piston contact is possible.
not in a standard B3 with no modifications.... that is what they mean by non-interference.

No, I'd prefer you understand that in unmodified B3 and B6 engines that piston valve contact is NOT possible.
I'm not certain that even if you shaved the head to the point you'd get contact that you'd have a running engine as the compression ratio could well be too high for pump gas.
You may well be correct on other engines, but not on these.

So I have oil up to the head I should be good just putting the head I have on. Non interefence means the valves WONT hit the piston when a timing belt breaks! I don't understand why people are saying it can!! Don't take this the wrong way but if you don't have any car knowledge don't keep making un needed posts in my thread. I was simply wondering what people have seen and should it be ok to put on just a new head without any worries. Once again, NON-INTERFERENCE MEANS THE VALVES WILL NOT HIT THE PISTON. Ok sorry Im done being irritated now.

This car is an 88 so it is carb. Somebody just mentioned that I might have to put an online fuel pump if I use an efi head. Can't I just take the block off plate out and install the fuel pump??

I beleive any festiva heads have the block off plate, i'm not sure about the aspire's heads though, i could check on my aspire

So Sandm849 yes you should be able to take the block off plate, off an EFI engine and install the mechanical fuel pump, there should be the lobe on the EFI camshaft already to drive the mechanical fuel pump
