  • seat belts

    my auto seat belts quit working and i cjeck the fuse its good so and body got any ideas
    1989 Ford Ranger 177 2.9
    2001 hyundai accent 1.6 DOHC

    There's a little switch at each end of the belts track. Looks kind of like a little spring. Sometimes these get stuck, and sometimes they just go out altogether. Take a small screwdriver and wiggle them around a bit to see if you can get it moving again. It's not a fix, but it will tell you if that's what the problem is. There is also a controller which is supposedly located somewhere on the floor(according to the item I saw listed on ebay one time) that can go out as well. I've never actually gone looking for it, so I'm not exactly sure where that is.

      the control module is located under the drivers seat, they go bad often.

      one seat belt can work while the other doesn't or both don't work can mean the module is bad

        both are bad so i will just try to replace it or just wire it up to a pushbutton switch
