  • Festiva Road Worthy

    G'day from oz fella's,
firstly i'd like to point out my ride is what you call an aspire over there but a 97 festiva here in Australia so if someone from Australia could comment that would be great, my question is if i take out the rear seats for a weight reduction would that make the car un road worthy?

    cheers

Not unless you have a law that states you need to leave the back seat in. People take them out all the time. You aren't changing the structural integrity of the frame in any way(at least on a Festiva, not 100% sure on an Aspire, but I wouldn't think it would. It just bolts in doesn't it?).

I run with no back seat. It weighs about 15 lbs, comes out with 4 bolts, and does not affect handling at all.

        Festiva Road Worthy/ weight reduction

thanks for the feedback, yeah i know it's not a lot of weight even if i could legally do that, thoe shes a b3 i think (1.3 litre) engine which is tiny and I'd want to lighten her up a little so logically I'd want to remove the rear seats then get a smaller battery and put on the rear right of the car then go from there, just an idea
