what are you meaning by inner ball joint???? there is only one ball joint on either side, and its considered a lower ball joint, and to replace that, i have found the best way is to jack up the car,and put jackstands on the frame part behind front wheels then take the bolts out that holds the ball joint onto the spindle assembly,"once the nut is off it should push through fairly easily, maybe some slight tapping with a hammer, dont mess the threads up however" after that, take a crow bar and wedge it between the frame and the control arm,and pry it down, taking the ball joint out of the socket. after both side is like this, simply unbolt the front sway bar mounts, and unbolt the control arms at the frame, and you should be able to finish it up from there, just bolt on the new control arms to the sway bar,and reverse procedure. really pretty easy, maybe a 30 min job, give or take 10 min "without any problems"
p.s. you dont just change the ball joints, you have to replace the whole control arm assembly, you can do it with out dropping the sway bar, however i have found it to be easier for me to drop it,and reinstall like mentioned good luck97 z28 camaro lt1 6 speed, some mods

Over the past year there have been several article posted on replacing the lower control arms, most with photos. A search on "control arm" should find them. I wrote up a description of replacing mine (no photos) and put it in
