  • For those with oil pan gasket issues

Check your crank and cam shaft seals first! Replaced both on mine and what do you know no leak! Been about 40 miles but knowing my luck it will leak now. The cam shaft seal looked fine better safe than sorry. When I bought the car the PO had replaced the oil pan gasket but it still leaked.. part of the reason he parted with it. He used gasket stuff instead of a regular gasket so it may leak eventually. It really wasn't extremely messy under the timing cover but the way the alternator belt was flinging oil it's was hard to believe it was the pan gasket. The seals were kinda expensive $14 each.. pan gasket would of been cheaper. So if you have a oil pan gasket that won't stop leaking look elsewhere ccasion5:

did you buy from a dealership or use parts store?
    what brand?
I read hat crank/front and cam seals are the same part. Is that true of rear seal?

I went to OReillys they had the National brand. Don't think the part was made in china. The crank and cam are the same but can't comment on the rear seal.
