02-15-2010, 06:51 AM I suggest it is "slipping belt."

            Happens all the time.
Many times we never hear back as to whether or not the problem was ever resolved.
So I'm not too annoyed, at least we learned it was the belt.
Though linking the noise to the oil top up did throw me.
We have had some members replace $100's in parts, ignoring a few free diagnostic suggestions which would have pin pointed the problem to a single $10 part.
            You get used to it.

I have the same issue, I figure it's the belt going bad or tension on it. I'll have to get that changed soon.

Sorry guys. The oil level must have been a coincidence. The belt had been replaced, or so I thought. (crooked garage! unbelievable!)

Ken replaced it, showed me that even though It looked new, it was separating on the inside. When it was replaced the squeal stopped. What can I say? I would not of thought it was that. I event thought it was alternator bearings! You should of heard that awful noise.

I'm happy it's fixed though. sorry for the delays in the reply.
