  • Carb Removal

Well, I pulled off the vacuum hoses, wires , and cables with no problems. When I went to unbolt the carb I was able to get 3 of the 4 nuts off with ease.

However, the top passenger side nut is in an awkward location and I can't fit my ratchet or my wrench in the space.

Any ideas on how to get that last nut off?

    Regards,

    Tim

The wrench I have, the patience I don't...

I'm sure the carb will come off in the end, though.

Hell, if I got it off, you can get it off.

I even got the damn thing back ON!

Get some universal joint type ratchet extenders. Get the wire flex extenders. Get little stubby ratchets and offset thingamajigs. The more the merrier! If they don't work, they still add weight to your toolkit.

If all else fails, use the XXL mallet and a crowbar.

Too bad my Mutt's still messed up. It's a lawn ornament right now. Pretty, though!!

it's a piece of cake to get that back passenger side nut off. i used a 1/4 drive socket attached to a swivel (u-joint thingimabob) and then hooked on an extension to that. had just enough room to get into it. had no luck with the open end wrench, the only one i had in 12mm was too long, firewall kept getting in the way.
