Festiva leaks water!

So my Festiva has a hole behind the dash about 3-4" in the corner allowing water to leak inside. Its corrosive rust.

I think it might be needed to cut out and a new peace of metal welded in? I Dunno do you guys have any ideas.

seriously now- so the water is coming inside on the floor?.... normally water from the front windshield goes down on the outside of the firewall, down the fender onto the ground... so you must have a bad hole there.

I would start by taking the black trim that's around the front window off. And then look and see if it's visible from there.

A fiberglass patch is a cloth/resin(epoxy) material that can be used on certain things. Of course the proper way to fix it would be to weld in another piece of metal. But Wal-Mart and auto parts stores sell fiberglass kits cheap and it could be made to work. Can you take a picture of this "damaged" area so we can better assist you in fixing it.

Here are pics of the rust on the frame. I am not sure if its worth restoring or is it?
Opinions would be greatly appreciated. I think there might be more rust along the firewall and other side of the frame.

looks like the outside air vent gots crud in it the one that where your wipers are your gonna have to get in there with a air hose and blow the gunk out if that might help there a small line that if its rotted can also leak in the car mine had leave and all bunch of stuff in it while i'm restoring the body i'm cleaning every nook and cranny see if that might help

and those rust spot sand down use naval jelly wash with water repeat then sand then use new pice of sheet metal or bond sand then primer..

What grit sand paper? And I am not familiar with jelly wash. Also use bondo along with new sheet metal to repair? Sounds like alot and I dont know too much about body work.

its very easy use naval jelly u can get the pink stuff at lowes or home chepo umm use gloves and a brush u do not wana touch that stuff its an acid wash with water repeat as needed then sand with 80 grit and paper and then bondo or use sheet metal or what ever u can thin of to clog the whole i have test one other thing but take 8 to 10 mins to dry epoxy or jb weld

Hmmm, I think I just might look for a cheap body and swap over my engine and tranny since there both in good condition.

It doesn't look too bad. You can remove most of the rust with a wire brush or sand paper and treat the rest with something like Jasco prep & paint (phosphoric acid). What that does is convert iron oxide to iron phosphate which is stable and can be painted over. I think you can even buy it at home depot. I may even have some if you need it.
