bought it with about 160K miles, came with a bunch of papers with tune ups ,oil changes, a real granny car, sat for two years, i put a new fuel pump (witch was bad that's how i got a 300 daller deal!) got it running did a complete tune up, timing and still can't see this wonder full 40 mpg. anyone have an idea why?it's 89 carb.

Pull the plugs and squirt some "Seafoam" in and let it set overnight. Put some rags over the spark plug holes and turn the engine over to let some of the "Seafoam" blow out. Put 2-3 cans in the gas tank and drive it till the tank is almost empty. That should solve any carbon build-up, fuel problems, and clean out anything in the carb.....
