  • Tyre Pressures

    Hi out there
I have just purchased a 1997 Festiva (Trio) for my daughter. The log book suggests looking in the front door panels for appropriate tyre pressures, but the info is not there.
Can anyone advise what are the appropriate pressures for city driving?
The tyres are new (Yokahama S-207)
I would appreciate any advice in this regard
    Cheers

try the passenger door. the 97 festiva is known as the aspire here, i have a 96 aspire and that's where mine is.

On my car they recommend 32psi, but I prefer to run 40psi as it makes the ride better.

I'm not sure the metric equivalent... is it kPa? In that case, 220 kPa would be recommended, and I use 275 kPa

BMC, if you decide to run over 35 psi, just look on your tyre sidewalls to check the maximum inflation pressure for that particular tyre.

Most cheap tyres here in the U.S. go up to 35 psi. The better tyres go up to around 44 psi.

Also make sure your car is not overloaded, or that can drive the heat up as well.

I run my Festivas with around 33 psi or so.

Really? All the ones I've had are rated at 45psi max

I must buy a lot cheaper tyres than you do, Andrew!

I'm not sure what I have right now though. I just recall that most of my tyres in the past were limited to 35 psi.

I see I'm going to have to raise my tyre pressures to keep up with you people.

I like spelling "tyres" this way! Watch out for the kerbs, ya'll!

make sure the spare in your boot is at the right pressure too, that way if you get a flat, then bob's your uncle!
