  • Locked parking brake cable

so my parking brake went bad as far as I can tell.
It was always on and dragging no matter how many clicks I set it to. So i took it apart my rear brake drums and everything was ok there and my teachers said the cable was rusted and just well royally screwed and they told me i need a new brake cable. So i was wondering

would the parking brake assembly from an aspire work for a 93 festiva

and any thoughts about what I can try before trying to buy a new parking .

Mine was locked up pretty bad when I got my car. I soaked it really well with PB Blaster and worked with it until it free'd up. I periodically soak it every now and again. Been fine for 2 years now. This may work for yours depending on how bad it is.
If a hammer doesn't fix it you have an electrical problem

Add your location and someone may be close enough to help. I have a non frozen cable I'd sell if you need it.
