  • Strange plug

There's a plug in my dash that I'm not sure about. It actually plugs into a dead panel beside the rear defrost switch in the dash. It's the one to the right.

      ^yep!

those are nice if you do any extra power electrical device add-ons to the car... you can then just tap into the hot line in those connectors.

the one in the rear is under the hatch panel... basic 2 plug connector (one is 90 degrees to the other)
don't know if all hatches were wired for it though??? maybe one of the non-wiper guys can check.

I'll check. It seems strange that a wiper system wouldn't have plugs at all appropriate ends...

I've heard that the wiring inside the car is there for the rear wiper, but the hatch does not have the wiring for it.

i think you are right, i dont see a T connector in my hatch. only a single wire connector (blue with green) and a 2 wire connector side by side, blue and blue with orange

Some hatches have the wiring and some don't. I have found both. I think it might be just older festivas that don't have the wiring.

                      Seen this one...
                      3 pin=rear wiper
                      4 pin=rear de-foger
I quickly read through the other posts but did not see a clear answer...

Having that extra power would be nice for something. I may route it to the rear of the car to be used as an auxiliary power jack for friends' phone chargers & stuff. I've even contemplated a power splitter through the clock delete on the dash so that I don't have wires running all over when I use my GPS and cell phone charger.

I'll do it asap, even if I don't actually make it happen. Won't be too hard. I figure with such low draw as chargers pull, the tiny wiring that they used in the harness won't be taxed too much.
