  • Size of threads for temp sender?

Does anyone know the size and thread pitch used on the temperature sender? I tried installing a mechanical temp gauge on my 1.3L today and the ones included with the gauge were both to big. I was curious to see if they are 1/4" or metric. I figured someone has installed mechanical gauges and may know.

PS: If you can give me a heads up on the mechanical oil pressure, that could prove helpful too.

Thank you in advance for the help, and I hope I got this posted in the correct forum.

I ended up tapping it out to a 3/8 connection. It was actually pretty easy. All I have to do now is build a small manifold for the fan switch, so I don't have to run the cooling fan with a switch.

it should be NPT if your tapping a fluid fitting.

Yes, it was an NPT thread. I am a pipe fitter by trade so I always use NPT on fluid fittings.
