gas smell fading but still present?

So I filled up the other day and noticed a strong smell of gas while driving away from the station, so automatically assumed there was a leak somewhere in the lines as per I did install a new gas tank not too long ago. I looked around and saw that the line running off the bottom of the tank kind of down the side,(which seems only to connect a line from the top and not actually go inside the tank) was dripping gas,,,not good. anyway I went and got some new fuel line and replaced the section which was only about 4 inches long, it was all metal line on either side, and the smell went away gradually, but not all. so sometimes usually only when my car is sitting and I get in it to start it up, I notice that scent again and it makes my head hurt , in physical and mental ways it does seem like it is slowly getting better but I dont know why it isnt gone alltogether, i checked all the lines on top under the driver side trim carpet and they seem snug and no leaks apparent but it could be just that minuscule, so I hope I dont have to replace all the lines to remedy this but is there somewhere that I am not looking because it only seems to smell in the car like I said after it has been sitting. it makes me think that one of the lines running through the driver side has a leak in it, I do not smell it outside the car. Any help would be appreciated as always.

and like I said I thought that little piece of rubber line was the culprit because it had gas dripping off of it which appeared to definetly be coming out of that section and it stopped leaking when I replaced it so could this just be some vapors left still stinking up the place?

Check the hoses leading to the charcoal cannister in the engine compartment. If one comes off, and mine does when I change the gas filtre, the fumes do not get stored in the canister but come out in the engine compartment instead. It smells when you start the car.

its a round plastic canister with a vacuum line running from it to the engine, yes you do have one. Also you could have injector seals leaking too.

yea i didnt know thats what the name was for it, reffered to as a three letter acronym in my manual so wasnt familiar with charcoal canister. dont think that is leaking though.
