  • Might buy a Festiva tomorrow

Going to look at a FI festiva tomorrow. The owner said they had been driving it but it just quit running. They arent mechanics and dont want to mess with it. The shop gave some high estimate to look at and fix, sight unseen. The owner says it turns over and is getting fuel ( I think, not sure on the fuel part ) but wont start. I thought Id take a few parts to see if I could get it running so I could drive it home. Im taking some fuseable links a timing belt and the two parts below. Any suggestions or thoughts would be appreciated. I know its not much to go on.

how about a distributor from a running car with cap and wires? shouldn't be too hard to pull, just mark it so it goes back in A-OK.

Parts kit for project Festiva rescue updated. Timing belt might be a bit much, probably wont change that in the feild.

Assuming it is getting fuel to the injectors, what you've got there, plus maybe a decent VOM should get you going.
I take it was fine one day, and refused to start the next? Something like that?

Your last pic just reminded me of something. Now I've got to start hoarding carby and EFI parts.

Yeah, the story was kind of vague but I think something like that. I could probably help you with your carby parts hoard. I no longer own a carbed festy.

Taking the camera, hear/tell.... the body is in good shape, could be the Fantastiva body Ive been looking for. Im thinking its an LX or a L plus from what Ive seen. May be a whole different thing when I get there. Im hoping for the best.

Ive seen some mouse nests in the air filter box before, they love that spot for some reason. I started putting gutter mesh over the air intake on mine

You could add timing to that list too you need all the above to run in time or it won't run either
