Exhaust Leak

Bought some SeaFoam and dumped it in the carb of my Festiva. The can said the car would smoke for a while.

I poured the stuff in the Festiva, and smoke poured out from the exhaust manifold-exhaust pipe flange in the engine compartment. More smoke came out from the engine compartment than from the muffler.

I had no idea about this exhaust leak until yesterday, since my car doesn't normally produce visible smoke.

Should I be concerned about this? Will it screw with emissions or give me carbon monoxide poisoning?

Undo three bolts, replace $2 gasket, replace three bolts....solved.

Carbon monoxide

Don't play games with CO! My '68 Opel Kadette almost killed me due to exhaust gasses coming in through a salt-created rust hole in the floor in back.

Tim, That is too funny ,I did not think I had a exhaust leak and mine did the same thing when I let the vac hose on the brake booster suck it in I was like wtf ? where is all that smoke coming from :lol: well now I know what I need to fix Thanks all

Don't mess with CO... toxic hypoxia is no fun at all...

Darkdans' directions are good ,, just soak the bolts with Penetrating Blaster first (day before and day of gasket change) and it'll go easy...
