  • b6t no start

Everything's hooked up. I've got spark from the coil and pressure at the fuel rail. It just cranks and cranks without even a sputter. It did run on starting fluid. Injectors not firing?

    Any ideas?

Definately gotta be injectors not firing. Plugs are clean.

No power to either wire on the #4 injector plug with key on

              b6t wont start

You say you know for sure that you have fuel pressure at the rail and you said that it ran on starting fluid. How long has the motor sat during the swap? I would be 100 percent sure you have the correct amount of fuel pressure at the rail before going any further. If you have pressure for sure than I would double check my connections at the ecm since it sends the signal to the injectors to fire. Good luck!

The motor only sat for a month maybe. I know there was fuel pressure because when I pulled the hose it puked out and then I hit the starter and it was puking out then too. Ill swap pumps with the Capri anyway just to be sure but I'm pretty sure the injectors aren't firing.

you're loosing injector control via the ECU. IIRC, the ECU provides ground to the injectors in a semi-batch style (1+4, and 2+3). but you say you have no battery power to the injector with the key on.... check your fuses, and/or splice the harness into a switched hot for testing and see if you get it to fire then.

Fuses were good. I was gonna jumper the injectors but I wasn't sure which wires to jumper...

look for the common wire between all the injectors (the odd colors are your grounds).

in the aspire, it's yellow with a red stripe (?). IIRC

Okay upon closer inspection I have battery power to BOTH wires on the injector plug.

I've tried everything, jumpering power to the injector, grounding the vaf... I'm at wits end. Its about to get scrapped

no no no, are you testing with the injector plugged in or unplugged? if testing while plugged, your readings are normal and youshould see if you get a ground while cranking (use a test light for this), but if testing unplugged, you have a short to power in the harness.

Apparently it was just the fuel lines hooked up backwards the whole time....

                              I have a question really

Do the infectors fire a few times with key ON.? Does the pump pressure up a few seconds with key ON.?

Or, does the pump and injector wait until cranking begins?

                              B6 egi.
