I have been tinkering around with my '92 since I have been unable to sell it. I was going to run a can of seafoam through it, but stumbled upon a problem. If I unhook ANY vacuum line, it dies instantly. Is this normal? I know there have been several seafoam posts before, but my question is more about the vacuum issue than knowing how to use the seafoam.... it DOES give directions on the side of the can Any help is appreciated.

i used the one that lead from the TB to the thing on the firewall for some emissions stuff... and mine would die too but it would take a sec or two... i would just pull off the line and plug it with my finger then give the motor a rev and dunk it in the seafoam, then rev it up a bit and let it suck all that junk in untill its dies...

Never used SeaFoam, but I once disconnected the hose that leads from the plastic intake air duct to the Idle Speed Controller and the engine immediately died with disastrous results.
After replacing the hose, I started the car to the tune of the loudest belt squeeling I had every heard; the charge light came on and remained on, while the alternator started producing as much current as it possibly could.
Maybe it was time for this alternator, original one with 180,000 miles on it, to fail, but the stress of killing the engine in this way is what pushed it over the edge.
As you may imagine, I now try to avoid placing this stress on the engine.

That is weird. I never would have thought that would affect something like that. Thanks for the warning! The normal is not always normal... MOST is not ALL... And any job can be hard if you don't have the right tools!!!
