Vane air flow

My winter Festiva is a 93. I've been having some problems with it lately, which I think is the vane air flow unit. It runs great most of the time but at other times it loses power and will stall. I will pop the hood, unplug and plug the electrical connection in a couple of times and it's good to go for a while. What do you recommend? Should I go to a salvage yard and replace the unit? I've never replaced an oxygen sensor. Should I do that also?

Sounds like a fuel issue. Maybe the "sock" in the gas tank or fuel filter? Does it stumble and die or is it like you turned the key off?

I would recommend a new o2 sensor. And I have a couple known good vaf meters if you need. $25 shipped

ok thanks....I'll keep checking this thread but it seems that the problem must be something with this air unit because like I said, when I unplug it and plug it back in it works fine for a while.
