  • How to remove the gudgeon pin or wrist pin from the connecting rod and piston?

    Hello

I am doing an engine rebuild like putting new rings and pistons. I have a question about, how to remove the gudgeon pin or wrist pin from the connecting rod and piston?

    Thanks

you need a hydraulic press, a fixture to support the small end of the rod from inside the piston, and the correct size mandrel to drive out the pin. Do not rely on the piston to support the rod, that will destroy piston.

I bought a set of rings for the pistons. Now i noticed that the second compression ring has a small grove around it. Which way should I make it, facing up or down?
