automatic seat belt question

Can the left and right side automatic seats belts be switched? My drivers side belt is frayed, and they may notice it when I go to get my car inspected this month.

I believe they can, just take the cover off of the retractor housing and there is a 16mm bolt there. Just unbolt them and swap them. But when you can I would suggest you replace it with a better one.

Do like I did and use rear seat belts in the front, LOL

Thanks, I do have a better one. I found a passenger side belt at the u-pull-it last week but haven't had a chance to install it. Someone cut the drivers side belt so I grabbed the passenger side hoping it would work,along with some other parts. It was the only Festiva in the yard so I thought I should get as many parts as I could afford. Spent 125.00.
